The Club

The Crosland Heath Golf Club, founded in 1914, is a par-71 heathland course laid out on disused quarries and old farmland by Dr Alister MacKenzie — architect of Augusta National, Cypress Point and Royal Melbourne — and it survives today much as he drew it.

Firm, free-draining fairways run over the Pennine tops with panoramic views across Huddersfield and the Colne Valley. The course is best known for its 'tower' par-3s, played over old quarry workings, and for a routing that sends the par-5s, par-3s and opening holes to every point of the compass — so the wind is never in the same place twice.

Known locally as 'The Heath', it is one of the friendliest clubs in the district, welcoming visitors and societies alongside its members. The clubhouse offers a traditional bar, catering and function rooms, with a pro shop, a PGA professional team, a Performance Studio and a practice ground.
